Joseph Pergola
Mr. Joseph T. Pergola is a retired Director of Music, Art and Theater Education for the William Floyd School District. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Music Education at Dowling College. Mr. Pergola attended New York College of Music as an undergraduate student. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music and his New York State Teaching Certification as a student at Dowling College. Mr. Pergola has received a Master of Arts degree from the State University at Stony Brook and his Educational Administrative Certification from C.W. Post University.
In addition to his many instructional activities, Mr. Pergola is a published author and consultant to the National Education Service Company, a past officer of the Suffolk County Music Educators Association, a member of the Advisory Executive Board for the New York State Band Directors Association and an active member of the Music Educators National Conference.
During his tenure as Director of Fine Arts, the William Floyd School District was named the M.E.N.C. Model Music Program. Both the New York State Theater Educators Association and the Educational Theater Association of America named him Administrator of the Year.
Mr. Pergola is currently Director of Educational Services for the Arts at the National Education Service Company. He serves as a leadership consultant and provides professional development clinics at various school districts as well as county, state and national conferences.
Clinic Title: Practical Strategies in an Era of Budget Cuts
Mr. Pergola will lead session participants through a discussion of topics to include the importance of understanding school finances, program costs, budget allocations, communication, advocacy, value analysis, prioritization and alternative funding sources. A question and answer period will be included.
