Melinda Speidel
Melinda Speidel currently teaches junior and senior High instrumental music at Cambridge Central School in Cambridge, NY where she has taught for seven years. Prior to teaching in Cambridge, she was the instrumental and sr. high choral music teacher at Andes Central School in Andes, NY. In addition to teaching the bands and numerous ensembles, Melinda also teaches Music Theory and Music History classes.
Ms. Speidel received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree with honors at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania and Masters of Music in Conducting Performance at the State University of New York, College at Fredonia under Dr. Paula Holcomb.
Ms. Speidel has performed in Europe with American Music Abroad and is a member of the Battenkill Chorale and the Cambridge Band (as performer and conductor - the oldest military style marching band in the U.S.). She has conducted Washington County music festivals, is Past-President of WCAMTA (Washington County Area Music Teachers Association) and is currently Secretary of NYSBDA (New York State Band Director’s Association).
