Martha Brown Middle School

The 2009-2010 Martha Brown Concert Band consists of 79 players in grades 6–8. The band performs at a sports pep rally in September, a December Holiday Concert, a March Mid-Winter Concert , an April Spring Concert, at NYSSMA Major Organization Festival in May, and a final Spring Concert in June.

Richard DePasquale

Richard DePasquale has taught instrumental music in grades 5-12 for the Fairport Central School District since 1975. He has conducted Fairport bands at all levels, with 31 years spent as a junior high / middle school band director. Mr. DePasquale has been active for over 30 years as a NYSSMA All-State Brass adjudicator, and has served as a guest clinician and Junior High Honor Band conductor.

Clinic: I’ve Learned a Few Things in 35 Years, and Mama Taught Me I Oughta Share

In today’s clinic session, Mr. DePasquale will cover a wide range of topics for music educators in all grade levels. Ideas and an approach for your music program to earn respect and be valued within your school community will be central to the presentation. An extensive handout set will be made available to directors attending this session.
