The New York State Band Directors Association is pleased to announce application procedures for participation in the 39th Annual Symposium, March 6-8, 2020 in Liverpool, New York. If you are interested in presenting your own clinic or having your group present a performance clinic, please follow the procedure found in the document below.

2019 NYSBDA Symposium Conducting Clinic Application
Our conducting clinic will be lead this year by our Legend, Michael Haithcock. If you are interested in being considered to conduct during this session, please fill out the form below. All efforts are made to choose conductors that represent a wide range of experiences. Anyone interested is encouraged to apply.

Michael Haithcock will highlight an exciting list of clinicians, ensembles, and other sessions at Symposium 2019, March 1 – 3. You won’t want to miss this exciting event. Michael Cordaro, NYSBDA 1st VP is completing final arrangements on the program which will also feature our 2019 Honor Bands under the direction of Dr. Michael Votta, Pete Malinverni, and Dr. Karen LaVoie. We hope you are making plans to attend this year’s terrific event. Information about sessions and presenters will be coming soon!
Region 6 Clinic
On Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at 9:00AM, Region 6 will host a clinic prior to the Zone 7 NYSSMA General Meeting. Daryle Redmond will present on The Long Roll and Advanced Rudiments: Declassified.
NYSBDA Region 1/ ECMEA Workshop
On Thursday, October 18, 2018 NYSBDA, in association with ECMEA, will host a regional workshop at Frontier Middle School. The workshop will feature Ray Bennett (Jazz Vibraphone), Stephen Parisi (Jazz Piano), Evonne MIchel (Euphonium), Craig Poissant (Saxophone), and Mary Kay Ortolano (Bassoon & Oboe).
NYSBDA Professional Development Workshop Hosted by CRANE
On Saturday, October 13th, The Crane School of Music’s collegiate chapter of the New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) will be hosting a professional development workshop day free to all NYSBDA members and open to all. Featuring sessions by Dr. Joshua Roach, Dr. James Madeja, Miles DeCastro, and Don Washington.
