NEW YORK STATE SUMMER MUSIC CONFERENCE
CLINICIANS AND PERFORMING ENSEMBLES APPLICATION

The New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) is pleased to announce application
procedures for participation in the New York State Summer Music Conference in Albany, New
York, from August 13-15, 2023. If you are interested in presenting your own clinic or having
your group present a performance clinic, please follow these application procedures:

Deadline Extension for the 2023 Honor Band Applications

The NYSBDA Middle and High School Honor Bands will rehearse and perform in person at the annual NYSBDA Symposium in Syracuse, NY. The dates for the 2023 Symposium are March 3-5. 

The Honor Band student nomination process will be completely online. Teachers who did not complete a Teacher Participation Form last year should click the corresponding link below to register your school district before completing the Student Nomination form. 

The deadline to submit forms and materials is 10/7/22.

Participation fee $300 for High School and $215 for Middle School (covers fees, lodging, meals, and digital concert recording)

The 2023 NYSBDA Honor Bands application process will be completely online. The student application forms are now available. Applications may be submitted, if you have already completed the Teacher Participation Form. If you have not done so already, please submit and email the respective Honor Band Chairperson so your school information can be added to the student application form.

Summer Conference 2022 Directors Band Information

NYS Summer Music Conference 2022
Sunday & Monday August 14-15, 2022

The 2022 NYSBDA Directors Band will be led by Dr. Patricia Cornett, Director of Band at
Temple University’s Boyer College of Music & Dance. Join us for this amazing, intensive and
rewarding experience. Register online using the Google Form below. This will help with
instrumentation and organization of music folders.

Please register for the NYS Summer Music Conference as well. This will give you access to
reading band sessions and numerous clinics. Check it out at http://www.nyssma.org/
All participants are encouraged to be current NYSBDA members who are registered for the New
York State Summer Music Conference.
